Project Description

Sumaq, a new gastronomic proposal in the heart of Palermo Hollywood, seeks to fuse Japanese and Peruvian culture. They trust Interiores Maluk to help them with this project.

The design concept It started from the fusion of these two cultures and the creation of different instances or proposals within the same space to create different experiences to captivate the client.

The materials were selected according to these proposals:

  • The restaurant's patio was attributed to the instance that reflects Peru and to transmit its essence, materials with earth, mustard and terracotta colors were used.
  • The cocktail bar was designed with a material representative of the night, using darker wood details and some industrial materials.
  • The second ceviche and sushi bar reflects the gastronomy of Japan through the use of characteristic patterns, shapes, materials and colors.
  • In the center of the two bars mentioned, the “fusion” instance, a neutral palette was used, with warm colors, natural wood patterns and with textures or mats.

The challenge In this project, it was the morphology of the premises, which was narrow and long. Trying to break away from that “corridor” feeling was one of the biggest challenges of this project. In addition, trying to find that balance between culture without losing importance to either of the two gastronomic proposals.

Scope
